Bio

Dr Khong Heng Yen is a VK7 Professor at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Sarawak Branch. She serves as the Chief Editor of the Journal of Smart Science and Technology and is the President of the UiTM Sarawak Professors’ Council. She began her career as a lecturer at UiTM Sarawak in 1998 and earned her PhD in Chemistry from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2010. With over 28 years of experience, she is a prominent researcher in natural products, particularly focusing on medicinal plants from Borneo and Sarawak. Dr Khong has completed more than 25 research projects and has received numerous awards, including the Eminent Scientist Award, along with more than 30 innovation medals and prizes. Additionally, she holds several intellectual property (IP) rights and has served as the Chief Judge and panel evaluator for the FRGS grant. Moreover, Dr Khong acts as an external examiner and actively participates in various national and state-level committees. She has also been a guest speaker at universities in China, Thailand, Indonesia, India, and Cambodia and has served as a Visiting Professor at RMUTT, Thailand. She has published over 100 indexed journal articles and serves on the editorial boards of several internationally indexed journals.
