Bio

Bony Wiem Lestari is a lecturer at the Department of Public Health, School of Medicine, and a senior research fellow at the Research Center for Care and Control of Infectious Disease (RC3ID), Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD), Bandung, Indonesia. She has conducted an international PhD on the public health aspects of tuberculosis and now leads the Gates Foundation-funded ‘TARGET’ project on TB drug resistance in Indonesia, which evaluates tNGS directly from sputum samples within a clinical network. Her research focuses on infectious disease control, epidemiology, implementation research, and quality of care, with an emphasis on translating evidence into effective public health practice. One of her interests is to accelerate the application of TB genomics in patient care.
